A little about Undertones

So there is a lot of beauty jargon out there and if you are like me, I have no idea what some of you are on about. So I decided to do a little bit of research (because I love being on the Internet) and try to clarify a few things about Undertones, in particular.

What Exactly Is A Undertone?

Your skin’s undertone is the color underneath the surface of your skin. Undertones are unique to each person and what might work for your undertone, may not work for your best friend and vice versa.

What Are My Undertone options?

Undertones are broken down as follows:

  • Cool (pink, red or bluish)

  • Warm (yellow, peachy, golden)

  • Neutral (a mix of warm and cool)

How Can I Figure Out My Undertone?

The easiest way? Look at the veins on the inside of your wrist.  Are the veins blue? Then you are cool (I mean, duh). Green? Well you are nice and warm my friend. Can't decide? They you are Switzerland (or if you want to be accurate, you're neutral)

How Does Knowing My Undertone Benefit Me?

Well, I am so glad you asked because the possibilities?! Do you see them?? Knowing your undertone may help you get better makeup matches that flatter you. It also may help you coordinate a wardrobe that makes all your dreams come true.

Now keep in mind, that your undertones can change due to exposure to the light outside your house so don't assume because you are warm now, that you will stay warm. Sometimes you can be as cold as ice.
